Technical Courier

An exciting new & innovative service now available in both Northern & Southern Ireland. We have the resource capability to be able to handle effectively the needs of both small and large companies.

An area for which a technical courier is ideal would be for those consignments which are a simple technical swap (i.e. de-installing the complete unit and re-installing the new unit). The old unit will then be returned to the client for repair. The technical courier will not leave the site until it has been confirmed that the new piece of hardware is fully functioning and has been checked by a member of staff at site.

We have a completely customised online system to record all job related information and to allow our clients to view and print the POD information. We update this system with the POD information and scanned POD on the same day that the job is completed.

This is a completely customised system unlike no other providing capabilities other companies can only dream of. The system can be integrated with portable PDA systems so that the POD information is updated in real-time by our engineers whilst on site. We understand how important the call closure information is in the technical courier market and this is why we have produced this system. We continue to update and customise this system to exactly suit the needs of our customers - we can produce completely bespoke paperwork which can easily be integrated into this system.

The system also includes a complete stock management system enabling us to keep track of our customer's stock at all times - whether it be stock held in the warehouse or van stock. Producst are scanned their arrival by a barcode scanner and logged on the system. We can instantly produce stock reports to show exactly what stock we have and where it is located within seconds.

How does a Technical Courier apply to my company?
Technical couriers are commonly used within the retail sales sector. This particular sector needs to have reliable electronic till hardware. Of course, due to the fact that this hardware is usually never switched off and is almost in constant use throughout the working day it is inevitable that the hardware will eventually start to malfunction.

The most common items to malfunction include; thermal printers, touch screen LCDs, keyboard & mice and chip & pin devices for example. Most retail businesses have an arrangement with a courier to ship them a new item to replace the faulty one. This is where most conventional couriers stop. They leave the staff in the store to replace the faulty item and then they will arrange a time to collect the faulty item.

A technical courier, in this situation, would work like this; The technical courier would be despatched with a replacement item albeit any one of the items from the list above. They would then visit the store and explain to the staff that they are there to replace the faulty item. The technical courier would then de-install the faulty hardware and install the new hardware. A test will be performed to ensure that the item works correctly. Once the staff at the store are happy with the new item it will be signed off and the Technical Courier will leave the site with the faulty piece of hardware for return to the service centre for repair.

It's plain to see how a technical courier solution can be a real benefit to any business within the retail sales sector. It offers a shorter down-time so that the tills can be fully functioning much faster than the use of a conventional courier solution.
